Acceptable Use Policy
This Policy describes conduct that is not allowed on getcoley.ai. It applies to everyone who accesses the Site. Violating this Policy may result in suspended or terminated access and — where conduct crosses a legal line — civil or criminal liability. Use of any Coley product is governed separately by a Commercial Agreement; this Policy is not a substitute.
01Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") is incorporated into and forms part of the Website Terms of Use. Terms defined in the Website Terms of Use have the same meaning here. This Policy applies to any access to or use of getcoley.ai, including all submissions through contact forms, all communications directed at Coley through the Site, and all interactions with the Site by automated agents acting on your behalf.
This Policy does not govern use of any Coley product. Acceptable use of the Products is addressed in the applicable Commercial Agreement.
02Illegal Activity
You may not use the Site to engage in, facilitate, or promote activity that is unlawful under the laws of the United States, the State of California, or any other applicable jurisdiction. This includes, without limitation:
- Fraud, identity theft, money laundering, embezzlement, or financial misrepresentation;
- Human trafficking, child sexual exploitation, or child sexual abuse material;
- Unlawful discrimination on the basis of a protected characteristic;
- Violation of sanctions, export controls, or trade restrictions;
- Unlicensed practice of a regulated profession (law, medicine, accounting, securities, real estate, insurance, etc.);
- Evasion of tax, regulatory, or reporting obligations;
- Any activity that violates the laws of any jurisdiction in which the conduct occurs or where its effects are felt.
03Harm to Persons
You may not use the Site to threaten, harass, stalk, defame, impersonate, intimidate, or dox any individual. You may not submit material that:
- Incites violence or unlawful action against any person or group;
- Exposes the private information of any identifiable person without lawful basis;
- Sexualizes, endangers, or otherwise harms any minor;
- Targets a person or group on the basis of a protected characteristic in a way that would constitute unlawful harassment;
- Discloses the health, financial, immigration, or other sensitive information of any person without authorization.
If your use of the Site causes you to learn of a threat to life or imminent physical harm, report it to local emergency services first; you may also inform Coley at abuse@getcoley.ai.
04Security Violations
You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, any Coley system, any Coley account, or any system connected to the Site;
- Test the security of the Site without prior written authorization from Coley. Coley does not have a published bug bounty program as of the Effective Date of this Policy; if you believe you have found a vulnerability, contact security@getcoley.ai before taking any further action;
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features or access controls;
- Use or distribute malware, worms, trojans, spyware, ransomware, keystroke loggers, or any code designed to interfere with or gain unauthorized access to the Site or any system;
- Launch or participate in denial-of-service attacks, distributed denial-of-service attacks, or any activity intended to overwhelm, degrade, or destabilize the Site;
- Spoof headers, forge packets, or otherwise misrepresent the origin of a request;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of Coley's infrastructure without express written permission;
- Engage in any activity that would violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, 18 U.S.C. § 1030, or equivalent laws in your jurisdiction.
Responsible Disclosure
If you discover a security vulnerability in the Site in good faith and in the course of ordinary use, report it at security@getcoley.ai with clear reproduction steps. Do not exploit the vulnerability, disclose it publicly before Coley has had a reasonable opportunity to remediate, or access data that is not your own. Good-faith reporters who follow this path will not be pursued under Section 11.
05Intellectual Property Violations
You may not:
- Reproduce, modify, distribute, display, or create derivative works from any Site content except as expressly permitted by the Website Terms of Use;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, architecture, detection logic, data models, algorithms, or trade secrets embodied in or referenced on the Site;
- Use any Coley trademark, service mark, trade name, logo, or trade dress without prior express written permission;
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notice, copyright notice, trademark notice, or attribution on any Site content;
- Submit or transmit material that infringes the copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, publicity, or privacy rights of any third party;
- Publish or republish Site content in a manner that creates confusion about its source or sponsorship.
06False or Misleading Content
You may not:
- Provide false, inaccurate, or misleading information through any Site form, email, or communication channel;
- Impersonate any person or organization, including Coley personnel, customers, partners, or investors;
- Misrepresent your authority to act on behalf of an organization;
- Submit phishing attempts, pretexting messages, or social-engineering content directed at Coley personnel;
- Publish or spread false statements about Coley, its Products, its personnel, or its customers.
07Competitive Misuse
You may not use the Site to gather information for the purpose of building, marketing, or selling a product or service that competes with any Coley Product. This includes:
- Competitive benchmarking;
- Reverse engineering Coley's positioning, messaging, or product descriptions for use in a competing product;
- Recruiting Coley personnel through the Site;
- Scraping, indexing, or systematically harvesting Site content for a competitive product or dataset;
- Creating a directory, database, or machine-readable derivative of Coley's product catalog, vertical case studies, or positioning.
If you represent a competitor and need to review Coley's public materials for lawful competitive-intelligence purposes, your use must be consistent with the Website Terms of Use and limited to public browsing. Do not submit Site forms misrepresenting your identity or intent.
08Automated Abuse
You may not:
- Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, spiders, or other automated systems to access the Site, except as expressly permitted by our publicly available
robots.txt file;
- Submit automated, bulk, or programmatic messages through Site forms, including mass contact-form submissions or email-bomb attacks;
- Exceed reasonable request rates, whether measured by requests per second, per minute, per hour, or per day;
- Use residential proxies, anonymization networks, or other techniques to evade rate limiting or to disguise automated access as human access;
- Ignore, circumvent, or attempt to bypass technical controls (CAPTCHA, rate limits, access tokens, authentication, user-agent filtering, etc.).
09Use with AI and Machine-Learning Systems
The following uses are prohibited without Coley's prior express written consent:
- Training, fine-tuning, pretraining, or grounding any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence model on Site content;
- Including Site content in any dataset intended for model development, including datasets published for research or shared with third parties;
- Using Site content as retrieval-augmented-generation source material in a commercial product that competes with Coley or that would reasonably be expected to divert commercial interest from Coley;
- Permitting, directing, or enabling an AI agent operating on your behalf to violate any provision of this Policy or the Website Terms of Use.
You are responsible for the conduct of any automated agent, assistant, or crawler you operate, license, or direct. The actions of such an agent are your actions for purposes of this Policy.
10Sanctions and Export Controls
You may not use the Site if you are: (a) located in, organized under the laws of, or ordinarily resident in a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive United States embargoes (including, as of the Effective Date, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine); (b) identified on any U.S. government restricted or denied-parties list, including the Specially Designated Nationals List, Entity List, Denied Persons List, or Debarred Parties List; or (c) otherwise prohibited by applicable export control or sanctions laws from accessing U.S.-origin software or services. You may not use the Site to facilitate any transaction prohibited by applicable sanctions or export-control laws.
11Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations of this Policy and take any action we reasonably determine to be appropriate, including without limitation:
- Warning you of the violation and requesting that you stop;
- Removing content you have submitted;
- Suspending or terminating your access to the Site;
- Blocking your IP address, user agent, organization, or network range;
- Notifying your internet service provider, your employer, or a relevant platform provider;
- Reporting the conduct to law enforcement, regulatory authorities, or professional licensing bodies;
- Seeking injunctive relief, damages, and any other remedy available at law or equity.
We may take these actions with or without notice, at our sole discretion. We are not obligated to monitor the Site for violations, and we have no liability to you or any third party for any action we take or decline to take in response to a suspected violation.
12Reporting a Violation
Report suspected violations of this Policy to:
Please include in your report: (a) your name and contact information; (b) a description of the conduct you are reporting; (c) any relevant URLs, timestamps, or other identifiers; and (d) if you are asserting an intellectual property right, the specific right you are asserting and your good-faith basis for the claim. We review every report we receive. We may not always disclose the outcome of our investigation.
13Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will post the revised Policy on the Site with an updated "Last Updated" date at least fifteen (15) days before it takes effect. For non-material changes, revised terms are effective upon posting. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of a revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of it.
